Word Up - It's Time to Get Wordy!

Word of the Day
I really do not know that anything has ever been more exciting than diagramming sentences. Gertrude Stein

Jesus laughs.

Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased. -- C S Lewis

We settle.

This was the crux of the message in church this past weekend; joy. We settle for what we think is holiness, when "infinite joy" is offered. We are to represent Christ right. I am His representative here on earth. Following Christ is not a solemn, joyless duty. That is not the message of the Bible. Jesus laughs.

I want to laugh out loud more often too.

"...because the joy of the Lord will make you strong/The joy of God is your strength!." Nehemiah 8:10
